The Dilwara Temples of India are located about 2½ kilometres from Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station. These Jain temples were built by Vimal Shah and designed by Vastapul-Tejpal, Jain laymen between the 11th and 13th centuries AD and are famous for their use of marble and intricate marble carvings. The five marble temples of Dilwara are a sacred pilgrimage place of the Jains. Some consider them to be one of the most beautiful Jain pilgrimage sites in the world. The temples have an opulent entranceway, the simplicity in architecture reflecting Jain values like honesty and frugality. The temples are in the midst of a range of forested hills. A high wall shrouds the temple complex.
Although Jains built some beautiful temples at other places in Rajasthan, Dilwara temples are believed to be most beautiful example of architectural perfection. The ornamental detail spreading over the minutely carved ceilings, doorways, pillars and panels is simply marvellous.
We stayed in Taj Fort Aguada in Goa for a day with family and it was a memorable stay. One of the best maintained Taj property and awesome view of beach and pool. Food was superb and special care from the restaurant manager.
It was one of our best stay in the last 10 years and hats off to Taj for making this as wonderful experience
Highly recommended, clean, safe quality hotel, no adverse comments, would stay there again and indeed started looking at options for February 2019. Transfer from and to airport was so easy with the courtesy service
beautiful huts of these hotel makes the stand alone fixtures beautiful and quaint. Love the cklose proximity of the sea to the resort and the out door swimmiming pool.. I had a great steak under the the stars
This is one of the must see attractions in Goa. It’s built by Portuguese during 17th century and is in great condition even now. You may have to walk a bit to see the complete fort and you will get a magnificent view of Arabian Sea from the fort.
Fort Aguada has a number of things to see in and around. So read up about the place(s) and plan your trip or else you will return seeing a large building made of stones. Also, if you are on a summer trip, make sure your visit is in the early morning, for the heat in the peak of summer is not something you will look forward to.
